At Cranbrook Alliance Church we intend to follow these words of Jesus and honour the many other scriptures that remind us of the importance of children to God. We also believe the scriptures clearly state that it is the family's responsibility to train up their children spiritually, so we are striving to equip families for this important task.

Sunday AM Education

We offer education for the following age groups who are dismissed midway through the morning worship service. Note that for the summer months of 2008 until the first Sunday in September, we will not have Sunday AM Ed, children will be in the main service.

Nursery & Toddler Room	First Impressions It is this department where "first impressions" are formed of God, His house, & His people. Following dismissal the nursery is staffed and there is a special time of learning for our 2 year olds. The Nursery Room is available for parents at any time for children up to 3 years.
Preschool/Kindergarten	In the Beginning...Growing into a Life of Faith The first unit of the Fall Quarter lays a foundation for studying the Scriptures. Children will begin by learning the Bible is the best book. They will discover the Bible tells us about God, all its words are true, the Bible tells us, "Jesus loves everyone," and it tells us to obey.
Grade 1	These kids will be on an adventure filled with games, crafts, memory verses and stories as they travel through: The Lord's Prayer to understand what prayer is all about and how to relate to God The 10 Commandments where they will discover God's laws given to us because He loves us The Armor of God and explore how to stand firm in different situations, and The Fruit of the Spirit learning how to express God's love through our actions and attitude
Grade 2	The Lord's Prayer
Grade 3	Every week, the Grade 3 students come together to discuss a single key verse from the Book of Genesis. These verses related to the very foundations of our walk with the LORD. The verse is made alive with applications relevant to their young lives. I had a young master come to me after the service, following our third session, stating that it really helped him do it. God is good! The verse is shared on pleasant little cards, with a coloring picture and short application. These are to be taken home and shared with the parents. The children are encouraged to memorize the verses. But, as the above indicates: memorization only takes place after we have made sure that they understand what God is teaching them in the verse.
Grade 4	Grade 4 will be growing in their understanding of the LORDSHIP of God in their Sunday School class this year. Lessons will cover topics such as: What does the word "Lord" mean? The authority of God over all things....Creation, authorities, sin etc. Jesus the Way ( & the Wisdom of God), the Truth ( great section on absolute and relative truth!) and the Life. The Servant Lord. Trusting the Lord Obeying the Lord Serving the Lord Worshipping the Lord Every knee shall bow.
Grades 5 & 6	Our class is focuses on teaching "Godly Character" through a Godly Character quality study, using examples throughout the bible. The theme for character building this year is "Round Up the Sin Gang). Along with teaching Godly character qualities we have a "application" aspect to our class where we actively practise the qualities we learn. Throughout the year we will do service projects for our church family, community, individuals and missions.

Fall Programs 2008

kidszone

Kids Zone begins October 1st, and is held every Wednesday (minus Christmas and Spring Break) from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm until the end of April.

Kids Zone is a fun evening for all kids in kindergarten to Grade 6.

Registration Night is Wednesday, October 1st. Cost (for the year) is $10/child or $20 for 2 or more children.
