"Let the little children come to me. Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me."

- Jesus

At Cranbrook Alliance Church we intend to follow these words of Jesus and honour the many other scriptures that remind us of the importance of children to God.  We also believe the scriptures clearly state that it is the family's responsibility to train up their children spiritually, so we are striving to equip families for this important task.

Our Pastor of Family Ministries is Cyril Marlatt.  E-mail Cyril.

Kristy Hurrell is our Sunday School Co-ordintator. If you have any questions about Sunday School, please contact her through the office, or on Sunday after the service.

We offer education for the following age groups who are dismissed midway through the morning worship service.

Nursery & Toddler Room

First Impressions

It is this department where "first impressions" are formed of God, His house, & His people.  Following dismissal the nursery is staffed and there is a special time of learning for our 2 year olds.  The Nursery Room is available for parents at any time for children up to 3 years.

Preschool/Kindergarten

In the Beginning...Growing into a Life of Faith

The first unit of the Fall Quarter lays a foundation for studying the Scriptures. Children will begin by learning the Bible is the best book. They will discover the Bible tells us about God, all its words are true, the Bible tells us, "Jesus loves everyone," and it tells us to obey.

Grade 1

These kids will be on an adventure filled with games, crafts, memory verses and stories as they travel through:

  1. The Lord's Prayer to understand what prayer is all about and how to relate to God
  2. The 10 Commandments where they will discover God's laws given to us because He loves us
  3. The Armor of God and explore how to stand firm in different situations, and
  4. The Fruit of the Spirit learning how to express God's love through our actions and attitude
Grades 2 & 3

In grades 2 and 3 this year, we journey through creation, beginning with the moment God spoke us into existence to becoming good stewards of all He has blessed us with while we service, love and honour Him throughout our lives.

Grade 4 Grade 4 will be growing in their understanding of the LORDSHIP of God in their Sunday School class this year.   Lessons will cover topics such as:
  1. What does the word "Lord" mean?
  2. The authority of God over all things....Creation, authorities, sin etc.
  3. Jesus the Way ( & the Wisdom of God), the Truth ( great section on absolute and relative truth!) and the Life.
  4. The Servant Lord.
  5. Trusting the Lord
  6. Obeying the Lord
  7. Serving the Lord
  8. Worshipping the Lord
  9. Every knee shall bow.
Grades 5 & 6

Our Grade 5/6 class are studying Biblical concepts related to the theme of walking with God, using the curriculum "Walk with Me" as our weekly guide. Each lesson, students are handed out a series of Scripture verses and/or passages that provide insights and equip them. Each lesson includes a specific example illustrating the concept, plus lively interaction with the teacher, aimed at driving the biblical concept home in the clay of day to day life.

Grades 7 & 8 We are learning about how God works in our lives from the book of 1 Kings.
